<p>The other day I was on a call with a friend and he asked me how to be a better person. I was shocked at his question because very few people actually verbalize this, but we know almost everyone constantly thinks about.</p>

<p>People often ask me, &#8220;what do you eat besides shakes?&#8221; So here goes&#8230;.</p>
<p>This was everything I ate today with the exception of 3.5 litres of water. Keep in mind, I have a diet like this for training. Given, I&#8217;m preparing for my upcoming triathlon training 1.25 &#8211; 3 hours a day, burning anywhere from 1,000 &#8211; 3,000 calories per day. Today was a simple 40 minute swim, followed by a 40 minute Strength and Conditioning workout so the calorie intact wasn&#8217;t as high.</p>

<h2>BREAKFAST/ 1st PRE-WORKOUT</h2>
<p>I start off my morning with a glass of water with 2 tablespoons of Organic Apple Cider Vinegar. NO, it does not taste that great BUT it alkalizes your system. You can also use a squeezed lemon. It&#8217;s excellent after your body produces lots of acid from sleeping.</p>

<h2><strong>MORNING SHAKE</strong></h2>
<p>Right after I follow up with a simple shake. Since I start my swim training within 1 hour of waking up. As seen below I use a Magic Bullet to blend it all up! I don&#8217;t measure anything, just eyeball it.</p>
<ul>
<li>2 tablespoons Udo&#8217;s Oil Blend (Excellent for essential fatty acids)</li>
<li>1 tablespoon Chia Seeds</li>
<li>2 cups Unsweetened Almond Milk</li>
<li>2 leaves dinosaur kale</li>
<li>1/4 cup frozen berries</li>
<li>3 scoops Vi-Shape shake mix</li>
</ul>

<h2>1st POST-WORKOUT</h2>
<p>Right after I finish my first workout I down a Vega Electrolyte Hydrator. This is a great healthy alternative to Gatorade, Powerade or any other similar products. You can also use Coconut water, however I would stay away from any of the canned products since their ingredients are &#8220;dead&#8221;, meaning there isn&#8217;t a lot of nutritional value although they taste great! You can get LIVE coconut water from the company Organic Lives sold at Whole Foods in the frozen section or from a real coconut.</p>

<li>1 scoop of Vi-Shape Shake Mix</li>

<p>I usually have one cup of coffee a day. Coffee by nature is acid, not alkaline unless you&#8217;re drinking cold pressed which is about 70-80% alkaline. Also, the Starbucks Americano is a great alternative, however the beans are not organic.</p>

<li>Starbucks Tall Americano &#8211; Black</li>
<li>Builder Bar or Visalus Nutra Cookie. Any bar to get the calories and more protein in.</li>

<p>During lunch I like to load up, mainly because my second workout begins a few hours later. Here&#8217;s what was on the menu today.</p>

<li>Amy&#8217;s Gluten Free/Dairy Free Bean and Rice Burrito</li>
<li>Organic Salsa</li>
<li>1 1/2 cups organic basmati brown rice</li>
<li>Salad &#8211; Organic greens, organic carrots, 1/2 cup hummus, shaved broccoli</li>

<p>Since the majority of my training is cardio, I like to have my meals sit at least 1 hour before doing any training. Usually, to fuel up on good fats I&#8217;ll have a organic avocado prior to a workout.</p>

<li>1 tablespoon peanut butter or almond butter</li>
<li>1 tablespoon Udo&#8217;s Oil 3 .6 .9 Blend</li>
<li>1 tabelspoon Nutrasea fish oil</li>
<li>1 tablespoon chia seeds</li>
<li>1/2 cup frozen berries</li>
<li>2 cups unsweetened almond milk</li>
<li>2 sticks organic celery</li>
<li>2 leaves dinosaur kale</li>
<li>3 scoops Vi-Shape Shake Mix</li>

<h2>TO GO SHAKE</h2>
<p>Since most nights I&#8217;m out with my business in the evenings I make a BIG enough shake from my 2nd post workout to take with me. This is a great way to not have the urges to make poor food choices when you&#8217;re outside the house.</p>

<p>Lately I&#8217;ve been having Organic Brazil Nuts as a late night snack. Brazil Nuts are high in trace mineral selenium, a powerful antioxidant activator that has shown to naturally boost testosterone levels in men. Helping with muscle mass and recovery. This is huge because testosterone production in men diminishes with age.</p>
