I was simply BLOWN away. What an amazing experience to head downtown to Vancouver during the Olympics. The streets were completely packed. The vibe was incredible with everyone having an awesome time enjoying each others presence.

So every Saturday morning I do a training with the company I work with. Since I am extremely passionate about Mindset I thought of the idea of doing a blog post on ways to help grow your business starting with having a successful mindset.

Don’t you love it when you get new great ideas?

Man it’s the best, that’s when you know you’re on the right path. It’s pretty amazing what we can accomplish if were open and receptive to new ideas that will impact other people’s lives in a positive light.

1. What beliefs do you need to achieve success in your business?

Try this for one second. Think about the person and lifestyle you live today…now compare that to the person and lifestyle you want to be living.

Is there a difference?

If there is contrast then you need to determine what set of beliefs do you need fill that gap.

If you’re in network marketing and have a belief money is the root of all evil, how to you think that plays a role on your ability to earn more money? Especially since you’d own a residual income business!

If you have a set of beliefs that empowered you,  how do you think it would impact your ability to grow your business and have the confidence and certainty other people would feel?

Here are a few ideas behind beliefs:

• I am a genius and I use my wisdom daily
• I believe in myself and my potential
• I have everything it takes to grow my business today
• I deserve to have a thriving business
• I deserve to have freedom and peace of mind

2. Why do you want to achieve your goals?

Alright, so this is something that has been outlined MANY times in MANY different books, Cd’s, workshops, and presentations.

You’ve got to know your WHY. What is your HUGE and compelling why?

It’s always great to be reminded why you want to grow your business because that “why” will help you on the days you just don’t feel like doing it. On the days you get rejected. On the days people tell you NO. On the days you find yourself being lazy. That is why your why is so critically important.

By the way, your why most be larger that just yourself. AND should not just be about money! Really think about the deep seeded reason why you want to grow your business. Focus on that, and it will propel you through to success.

Here are a few examples of a why:

• For your family
• For a better lifestyle and freedom
• For being apart of something that gives you purpose and meaning
• For fulfilling your life vision

3. What are the new habits you must create on a daily basis?

We all have bad habits that we wish we didn’t do right?

For example, one of mine is surfing the Internet. Sometimes I get caught up watching YouTube videos that have no impact on my business and life what so ever. And sometimes I get caught up watching the UFC highlights. OK, so that doesn’t really help me create my life vision….but it is TOTAL escapism.

One of the books I am currently reading is Stephen R. Covey’s, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Right now there are things you’re doing in your life that may not be benefiting you.

What are the habits you’ve created from the minute you wake up until you minute you fall asleep? Use the Law of Comparison here just as in number 1. Compare your habits to someone who is earning the income you want to be earning. Compare your habits to someone who has the free time and lifestyle you want to be living.

Is there a difference?

If so, then figure out what’s working and what isn’t in your life. Watching TV for two hours a day isn’t going to grow your business. Determine the habits you need and make it a habitual way of living.

4. What are your strengths?

What do you do that you’re just NATURALLY good at? What are your unique abilities and core strengths?

If you’re involved in network marketing or own a small business, hire or invite people on your team who will strengthen your weaknesses.

That’s the BEAUTY of teamwork. You don’t have to be good at everything! In fact, you can completely SUCK at online marketing or researching and have a successful business. Why?

Because you invite people to come onto your team who ARE great at what you suck at. That’s the mindset aspect. Focus on strengthing what you are naturally great at, and managing what you aren’t. Invite people onto your team who play at things you have to work at.

Here are a few examples of strengths you may have:

• Persistence
• Online Marketing
• Leadership Skills
• Dynamic Presenter
• Excellent Imagination

5. What help do you need to accomplish your goals?

The faster you recognize this, the faster you will achieve success in your business.

What is one of the most annoying things in the WORLD? A know it all. Nobody likes a know it all. So ask really good questions and get help when you need it.

I am willing to ask ANYONE around the world for solutions to my answers. I’ve been blessed to have been mentored by so many people because of my willingness to recognize when I needed help.

Someone in the word has created and achieved what you want to do, it’s best to follow their path of success.

PS: Which is your favorite out of the 5 that you liked the most?

At the beginning of every year what do most of us do? Set one or two New Years resolutions that we PROMISE we will stick to NO MATTER WHAT! Your going to get into the BEST shape of your life, or earn more money that you ever have before.

How long does that usually last? Within days, weeks, over just over a month we find ourselves in the old habits again of doing the EXACT same things. Sound familiar?

When I first began studying Universal Principles, brain research, and mindset I was extremely intrigued how the majority of people continue to get the same results in their lives.

What we are really understanding is the difference between the conscious mind versus our non-conscious mind.

Here is why New Years Resolutions Do Not Work….

To sum it ALL up in two words, Will Power. This simply does not work. In order to achieve our New Years Resolutions we have to use will power and our conscious effort.

This is why you can have a goal to lose weight, and four days after making that decision your wondering how you ended back on the coach eating cheesy puffs.

Seriously, this is NOT the power center of your brains.

The power center is really the non-conscious mind. That’s the part of our mind that is the “CEO” of our perceptions, behaviors, and habits.

In order for your New Years Resolutions to work, you MUST create a habit that corresponds with those new goals. During this times you still have to use Will Power, but once it is ingrained as a habit, you’re set.

What exactly does the non-conscious mind do?

• Controls 96-98% of our perceptions and behaviors
• Averages 400 billion actions per second
• Sees in patterns and images
• Cannot tell truth from lie
• Cannot tell real from imagined
• Impulses travel at more than 100,000 MPH

Pretty sweet huh? When you learn to FULLY utilize your brain, you’ll have no problem achieving all your New Years Resolutions.

Repetition is the mother of learning. Set your sights on what you want to achieve as your New Years Goals and continue to make them happen for 30 days. It takes about 3-4 weeks for a habit to form.

So over the past week I’ve had a ton of people ask me what is this one sheet of paper I carry with me. Most people are completely thrown off when I tell them it’s my Daily Results Planner. “Your daily what?” It’s a simple sheet that I use everyday to plan my day from start to finish.

I am a HUGE believer in focus and intention. I’ve used this sheet for years now either early in the morning or late at night. I’ll go through and setup my day if you will. Instead of having everything sit inside your head, it’s best to get it out on paper and get the intention in writing….Trust me, you’ll be AMAZED at what you achieve in the day…

Do you consider yourself a leader? If you’re a small business owner, or involved in Network Marketing chances are you are a leader. The real question is – are you a good leader?

One common attribute among leaders is that they make other people FEEL good! If you want to make people FEEL like a million bucks then you’ve got to raise their spirits (and energy) and show them you’re there to help them.

I’m going to share with you 3 very simple steps that you can start applying in your life today to establish yourself as a leader in your business.

Leadership Principle #1
The 30 Second Rule

When you get around ANYONE for the first 30 seconds what must you do? Say something affirming. What do I mean by this? In the first 30 seconds take the time to praise the person you are speaking to. I’m not talking about lying, I’m talking about saying something genuine and sincere!

Here’s what I can share with you; “Praise increases energy, criticism decreases energy.”

When you first get together with someone (even if you know them) share with them something that is AMAZING about THEM! I love your new haircut, man you look great, you’re always on time and I love that about you, you’ve got such a great smile, I know very few people that have your charisma! Whatever you FEEL that is true about the individual, you gotta let them know. You gotta let them know that they are amazing!

Start practicing this today and I guarantee you’ll be connecting with others and building rapport faster than you ever have in your entire life. This one principle has helped me connect with others so well I felt so compelled to share it with you!

Leadership Principle #2
Let People Know You Need Them

Do you want to TRULY know how to make people FEEL like a Million Bucks? Let them know that you need them in your life. Let them know that without them, there is no way your business would succeed. Let them know that if you didn’t have them there to help you, there is no way you could achieve the vision you are working on together.

Think about this for a second. I read this many years ago; “People will work 8 hours for a job they like, 12 hours for a boss they like, and 24 hours for a Vision they buy into.”

You’ve gotta let people know that you NEED them! If you have a vision for your business, something that is SO HUGE, you are going to need people to help you reach the summit. Guess what? You can’t do it own your own. Recognize the people in your group and let them know you need them. Say this; “hey look, I have such a massive vision for our organization, the kind of vision that is LIFE TRANSFORMING. But I can’t do it on my own, I need your help and together we can make this thing happen.”

Find a way to let people know that they are important, because guess what? They are. Your employees or your downlines are the ones who will help you reach the summit. Why not do it together by letting them know you need them.

Leadership Principle #3
Instill The Belief In Others

Has anyone ever told you that you can succeed at something? Has anyone ever told you that you can achieve whatever it is that you want? How often do others do this to you on a weekly basis?

More importantly, how often do you do this to other people?

Here’s what I can share with you, when I was being mentored by John Assaraf one of the things John constantly instilled in me was the belief in myself. He was constantly letting my know, you can do it and I believe in your abilities.

This is the part that most people are guilty of not doing. When was you last time you let your siblings, co-workers, partners, or downline,  know that they can and will achieve that they are TRULY passionate about?

You’ve gotta INSTILL the belief in others! People like to have confirmation they can achieve their life’s goals and dreams from another person.

If you know a person that wants to write a book, you let them know their book WILL BE a New York Times Best Seller and you can see it on the shelves right now! If you know a person that wants to coach and mentor people, you let them know they will be one of the most well recognized coaches in the world! If you know a person who wants to build a massive network marketing organization, you let them know you can see thousands of people in their group, massive hotel meetings, and amazing trips around the world doing presentation helping people!

You’ve gotta INSTILL that belief in other people, that is how you establish yourself as a leader. Let people know they can do it.

The other day I had an interesting experience and I wanted to share with you!

I was speaking with a friend inside his home here in Vancouver, Canada. He has a very nice house that he just purchased last year for several million. Huge ceilings, massive living rooms, and on suites off all the bedrooms. Basically it is a beautiful home.

Here’s the thing….

Even though he has achieved a great deal of financial success, he (for some reason) still felt compelled to impress me. He was sharing stories about trips, vacations, all these people he knows, and guess what? Almost every time he shared a story with me he was either lying, or was stretching the truth.

How do I know? Simply by his body language. That right there is HUGE my friends.

He must have rubbed, swiped, or touched his nose or the back of his head at least a half dozen times. Even though he is a GREAT guy, he felt compelled to stretch the truth just for the sake of making things sound more exciting.

Let’s Understand What Happened With My Friend….

Unfortunately he wasn’t being totally truthful with me. He had a case of what I call “Nose-Rubbing.” By slightly rubbing his nose he was looking for a way to calm his nerves. There is a reaction in our brains that happens when we lie or exaggerate and causes us to experience wanting to touch our nose without us being consciously aware of it. It’s human behavior, and unless your are totally truthful, it’s going to happen to you too.

Now, in this case with my friend he could have been nervous for this to happen too, however we’ve known each other for quite a while and I highly doubt he was feeling nervous around me!

Pretty powerful to think about right? Your facial expressions, gestures, head movements, eye contact, and posture all communicate, either congruently or incongruent. If you’re in Network Marketing or you own a small business, you simply must understand others body language because it will give you a slight edge in your market place.

A Second Example For You….

The other day I had a business meeting with five people. There was two guys that were interested in our business model and wanted to discover how they could get involved. It was an absolutely beautiful sunny day and I was really looking forward to this meeting. We all met up at the our head office and started the conversation inside the lobby.

After the typical meet and great, handshakes and small talk, what did these guys decide to do? They both decided to cross their arms as we began speaking about our business model.

What does this tell me?

This tells me that they are feeling uncomfortable and closed off. Whenever someone crosses their arms and holds their body tight, what they are actually saying is that, “I’m holding myself because I am feeling uncomfortable with this environment and want to let myself know it is OK.” In a nutshell, people close themselves off because they are uncomfortable.

In a situation like this, it’s important to understand what your prospects behaviour is telling you. In this case, the arms crossed let me know I need to match them for just a few seconds. I also crossed my arms while conversing with them. Once they started open up, I began to use several NLP (Neuro Lingistic Programming) Techniques to help them”open up” and feel more comfortable.

At this point everything was great! We were laughing, making jokes, and really having an awesome time connecting and doing business. More importantly, from that point on they felt comfortable with me and never crossed their arms again.

There are so many techniques that I can help you with and I’ll be sure to post something up that will have more detail in you all want.

Do you know how the term visualization has become a seriously hot topic? Ever since the hit movie “The Secret” people have be opening up to the unlimited potential you and I possess.

Do you want to know the scary thing about it?

Most people are NOT manifesting their dreams, goals and desires. Yes it’s completely true there are many people who have experienced AMAZING results since movies like The Secret, but how many people are actually CONSISTENTLY applying the Law of Attraction with great success?

There is a certain syntax, a recipe for success if you will. This recipe is definitely not generic, in fact, it’s personalized for you! There are certain misconceptions that many people have about the term visualization. So let’s set the record straight and give you some new awareness that I know will help you start to achieve the life you truly want to live and ABSOLUTELY deserve to live!

Secret #1 – Emotion Is The Key

What does emotion stand for? Energy in Motion. When most people think of the term visualization they think of what? Visualizing something on the screen of their mind, right? If you are visualizing however you are NOT  fully emotionalizing your intentions and getting excited about what you want to accomplish, acquire and achieve then your chances of actually manifesting whatever you are visualizing are second to none. Sorry to be blunt.

Think about it…this is a FEELING based Universe. When you get completely engulfed with emotion and FULLY emotionalize all your visualization with absolute joy,  love and excitement then THAT’S when you will begin to manifest all your dreams and desires. Thinking about it alone is not strong enough. Get Excited and TRULY passionate about your visualization sessions and begin to watch the magic unfold.

How To Tip: Start listening to your favorite music while visualizing. You can also try neuro associate linking. Which is a little more advanced but still simple. I want you to think of something in your past that made you happy….have it? Once you have that thought immediately switch back to your new visualization session. That is another trick to help amp up the emotion and get you into a higher vibrational frequency.

Secret #2 – Time Is Not A Factor

What did I do when I first began practicing visualizing? I invested countless hours, I mean COUNTLESS hours into seeing everything in perfect detail. The good news is that you can learn from my mistakes!

I am very serious when I say visualizing everyday should only take you 2-3 minutes. That’s it. Not 10, not 20, not even 30 minutes a day. Emotion is more important here than time frame. You can poor more emotion into visualizing in a 10 second idea or thought than a 10 minute visualization. That my friends is the key and essentially important to apply.

How To Tip: Listen to your favorite music and really get excited!! The great news is that most songs are only 2-3 minutes long. Make it a habit to listen to one of your favorite tracks and let your thoughts flow. I can guarantee you this WILL get you totally Amped about all your goals and dreams!

Secret #3 – I Can’t See Clearly

The biggest misconception I find when others begin visualizing is that that assume they must see the images clearly in their mind. Clarity is key, however Emotion is much more important.

You know how we all process information differently, well if you are more kinesthetic then analytical chances are you may have a challenge seeing the image on the screen of your mind.

So what does this mean?

You don’t have to see it…..feel it. Remember we live in a feeling based Universe. Most people get caught up on the term “VISUALization.” Give yourself a break, don’t work at this and let everything flow. You’ll be amazed what will happen next in your life.

How To Tip: What feelings, sensations, and rushes of energy do you experience when you visualize? Focus on those and let THOSE feelings rush out. Focus on how you feel and let all the details figure themselves out. Be sure to find a quiet place to relax away from noise or distractions.

Secret #4 – Don’t Have A Set Schedule

Why do this? Simply because you are training your brain to be spontaneous. If everyday you visualize at 7am on the dot for 3 minutes chances are you are going to get bored! I know for myself taking this kind of approach usually sent me to losing my emotional buy in over time.

Be sure to mix it up and be spontaneous with visualizing. This is essentially KEY to keeping your emotional excitement levels at 10. Just as an artist can have an inspiration at a moments notice, you need to take the same approach too. When you feel that creative urge to visualize that’s the time to take those 2-3 minutes and REALLY jump into your new reality. Keep it new and exciting!

How To Tip: Whenever you feel excitement and rush of emotions invest the time then for a few short minutes to Visualize. Don’t wait until later for your “set routine.” Take the action and feel it while those emotions are present.

Secret #5 – Expand Your Vision

Here’s what I can share with you (this is extremely important!). Most people based their visualizing upon what they think they can achieve, not what they WANT to achieve. What do you TRULY want in your life? What do you want to acquire, accomplish, and become?

When I first heard this I was simply blown away! I had never asked myself this before and really struggled to come up with an answer. I’ve now reached a point in my life when anything I visualize about is obtainable to me. You wouldn’t have the desire unless you had the ability to achieve it.

Wherever your visualizing takes you let it. Let your mind expand because very often the Universe (or whatever you want to call it) has much Bigger Plans then we even anticipated. From now on TRULY invest into yourself and base your decisions on what you really want in your life, not what you think you can achieve.

How To Tip: Before you begin visualizing be completely open minded and relaxed. Be open to new possibilities and ideas that you may never have thought of before. Often times I’m amazed of the incredibly powerful ideas that come from my visualizing  by allowing myself to open up to the infinite possibilities in this life. Be sure to do the same…..you’ll be amazed to say the least.

Do you know how most people have a set criteria of ways to communicate with others? I’m sure you can relate! Usually we interact by using the same words, standing in the same positions, and conversing with the same subjects.

Why is this not effective when building rapport with new prospects?

That’s rather simple, everyone is different! We all process information differently, whether it be visual, auditory, or kinesthetic. If you’re not communicating with others in the same way THEY communicate then you’re actually breaking rapport and you’ll slowly lose the persons interest.

In order to build rapport fast with integrity we must first understand the importance of quickly accessing the others persons body language and language patterns. This is rather simple and will come natural with practice.

Here’s what I can share with you, professionals have trained themselves to mirror other people’s behavior when they first meet. This is how you build rapport quickly, and then you can raise others up to the level you would them to be.

Below you can see a few examples I gave in helping to build rapport and find out HOW your prospect actually processes information. This is KEY everyone!

Here are a few examples of ways to match language patterns:

• Match the tone of voice your prospect is using
• Find similar words to use
• Speak at the same speed that your prospect is speaking

Here are a few examples of ways to match body language:

• Match how the person is standing / sitting
• If they have crossed arms, cross yours
• If they are extremely visual (using their hand to speak, use yours)
• If they are touchy feely (do the same..don’t get too close!)
• You can even match facial expressions too

Once you start to feel comfortable with your prospect (and they feel comfortable with you), then you can begin to raise their vibration and really take the conversation to the next level! That is TRUE rapport building my friends!

When you practice these techniques and become excellent at this over time, I guarantee you’ll be building rapport FASTER and EASIER than ever before.
