Well Christmas is officially a WRAP for 2012! You probably ate, drank and celebrated the day with family and friends. As you should have!
There is NOTHING worse than feeling bloated, fat and down right NASTY in your own clothes.
But now you’re feeling the “Christmas Chub.” You’re starting to FEEL the stuffing and cranberries showing up on your body. Here’s some Fat Burning Vegetables for helping you drop that weight.
For those of you who didn’t think eating alkaline foods could also help you burn fat, think again. Many alkaline foods especially fruits, vegetables and greens by their shear low caloric values, make them great for weight loss.
Here’s an example of how I save TONS of time simply blending many of these fruits and veggies.
VEGETABLES
You should consume 2 to 3 cups of vegetables each day. SUPER IMPORTANT! Vegetables that are high in alkaline include endives, asparagus and alfalfa sprouts. Moderately alkalinic veggies include celery, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, corn, carrots and turnips. Cucumbers, leeks, mushrooms, okra, onions and artichokes are considered light alkaline foods.
Spinach and fresh endive are the most alkaline-rich leafy green vegetables (a STAPLE in my diet). Other good choices to raise alkalinity are broccoli, romaine lettuce, escarole, kale and Brussels sprouts. Greens, such as dandelion, chard, collard, and mustard are highly alkaline as well.

For an alkaline boost, choose orange vegetables, such as sweet potato, carrot, acorn or butternut squash and pumpkin. Orange vegetables are not only alkaline-forming, they are rich in beta-carotene, which helps the body create vitamin A, contributing to good vision and a healthy immune system. I personally eat TONS of sweet potato and yams throughout the day.
Asparagus, onions and garlic are high alkaline vegetables. Also alkaline-rich are zucchini, tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers and avocado are alkalizing fruits that are sometimes classified as vegetables and can also help with that burning.
Typically for me I eat about 90% vegetables and 10% fruit. Of course I’m drinking 3 Vi shakes a day with 3-4 main meals a day also. Keep in mind, I burn anywhere from 1,000 – 3,000 calories a day working out.
FRUITS
Fruits that are heavily alkaline include watermelon, cantaloupe, mangoes, pears, grapes and passion fruit. Dried fruits like dates, apricots, figs and raisins are also considered heavy alkaline foods.
Apples, fresh apricots, bananas, and berries all have a moderate alkaline level around 8.0. Light alkaline fruits include cherries and peaches. Keep in mind, all fruits are sugar based and sugar turns into energy stored fats. So eat in moderation.
