What does it take to create viral growth in your ViSalus business? I know when I got started in May, 2011 I asked myself the same thing. Having built up our ViSalus business to the level of Presidential Director within five months I’ve learned some key elements about what it takes to build a successful business.

Since hitting that rank we’ve jumped between $95,000 – $130,000 GQV for four months. Even though volume is cranking and our team is flying, we were missing a piece to run to Ambassador. I mean come on, there were two months when we were off by around $25,000 GQV! It wasn’t until we realized the proper way to get our team where THEY needed to be.

So let’s start with the basics in understanding what it takes to run.

ViSalus Growth Step 1

3 For Free, Stars and Cars

It’s that easy, no joke. When I started with ViSalus I was able to get my 3 customers and 3 ESS promoters within 10 days. The entire ViSalus structure is BUILD on stars. Break as many as you can, I’ve now helped 52 break at that level.

How do you do this? Follow the system. ViSalus Getting Started Training. Once your warm list is built, make sure  your sponsor calls with you. This is CRITICAL. All I did when I started is lined up 3 way calls. My sponsor, Rachel Jackson and I must have been doing 2-3  a day. It’s also a great time to drive people to your Body By Vi Challenge Party.

The main thing is that you’re picking up the phone and CALLING people. Forget email and texting. People who do that are usually afraid to pick up the phone. If you want a thriving business, call people.

ViSalus Growth Step 2

Create Your Story

Get results, and leverage those results. If you had any form of results during your 90 day Body By Vi Challenge use that story! If you locked in Rising Star Director or any other level use that story! This is why it’s so important to lock in your story ASAP. Mine is simple, ViSalus Rising Star Director in 10 days, ViSalus Regional Director in 45 days, ViSalus National Director in 4 months, ViSalus Presidential Director in 5 months. 10-100% growth every month compounded. Basically, created a near 6-Figure income within 5 months.

Use Facebook and post your before and after pics. Watch people message you like crazy after that!

What’s your story? Leverage Step 1 to lock it in as FAST as you possibly can! Also, have your entire team learn this and use urgency with your new promoters to help create their story.

ViSalus Growth Step 3

Create Urgency 

Let’s face it, people are natural procrastinators. Unless you create urgency, it will take your FOREVER to get people started. Remember, people are naturally attracted to others who are “high energy and fun!” Are you?

To this day, I follow the system and always create urgency. “Hey, right now we’re getting anywhere from 10-30 people started a DAY on the challenge! Last month we helped 3 people get into a FREE BMW, why weren’t one of them you?”

Urgency is all about communication. Give people a reason to move, and they’ll move. It’s not about “begging” people to get started, you don’t want to do that. Find out WHY they want to earn more money or have better health then place urgency on how quickly that can happen for them.

If you’re leading a team, do they listen? Power is walking into a room, and people know you’re there. Power is leading, and people take action. Power is nothing you can buy, barter, or achieve. How? What must you do NOW to own your power? Be vulnerable . Be open. Talk about your failures and what you’ve learned. As a leader, the more “me too’s” you can create with your followers the more success you’ll have. Own your shadow. Own your past failures.

COURAGE: Having the ability to be transparent with who you truly are.

You will always “give away” your power until you own your failures, and not ignore them. People know about me, I left high school in grade eleven, hit rock bottom in January 2011 with $45,000 in debt and failed the first six months of my online career. I own it. I don’t pretend that it “isn’t there.” Transparency keeps and builds power. I’ve also had tremendous success with ViSalus nearly breaking a 6-Figure income in 5 months, however I speak more about my failures.

Great leaders relate to people and build “bridges.” You’ll always remember someone struggles, before their success. Learn to take any struggles in your life, and leverage them to build your power. Rinse and repeat.

If you’ve failed or succeeded at anything in life, own it! When you own your power, others negative opinions will be not match for you. Let your haters hate, and give your attention to the people who love on you.

Guilt, remorse, shame and blame are all emotions that will drain your power. Still, reflect and learn from past experiences. Do not dismiss them as though they didn’t happen. Own it. It’s a part of you. Forgive and let go both of yourself and others. You’re robbing your own power everyday if you don’t
